The Lady Knights top West Muskingum 3-1 to bring home the win.
The Knights were led by sisters Charli and Codi Murphy, who connected on all three goals.
The first goal came less than a minute into the game when Codi found Charli making a run down the left sideline. Charli beat a defender before placing the ball into the back of the net.
West Muskingum answered less than a minute later with a shot to the near post, tying the game 1-1. That score would hold for the remainder of the first half.
In the second half, Codi found Charli again, this time with a ball over the top of the defense. Charli brought it down and calmly placed the ball into the net to give the Knights a 2-1 lead.
Codi connected with Charli once more in the center of the field before Charli beat a couple of defenders and again found the back of the net, completing her hat trick and giving the Knights a 3-1 lead.
The Knights put together a great defensive performance, led by Breslyn Brown, Ava Reiheld, Kylie Turpen, Becca Miller, Una Holasek, and Emily Ogi.
Landrie Croskey recorded six saves in goal.
The Lady Knights are back in action Thursday, October 1, at home against Ashland. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
