The Lady Knights opened their season with a 4-2 win over Northwest. Charli Murphy scored all four goals in the victory. Her first came with 26 minutes remaining in the first half when Codi Murphy played a perfectly weighted through ball on the ground. Charli ran onto it and finished into the bottom corner to give West Holmes the lead. Five minutes later, the Indians finished a cross off a corner kick to tie the game at 1-1. Less than a minute later, Landrie Croskey punted the ball downfield to Charli, who brought it under control, drove toward goal and finished into the far corner to put the Lady Knights back in front. Northwest answered again with 14 minutes remaining in the first half, sending the teams into halftime tied 2-2. After a back-and-forth start to the second half, Codi connected with Charli on two nearly identical through balls. Charli slotted the first past the goalkeeper before later dribbling around the keeper and finishing her fourth goal of the night, completing the 4-2 win. Landrie Croskey finished with seven saves in goal. Freshman Ava Reiheld and Jillian Jones, along with seniors Janae Giauque and Kylie Turpen, helped lead a strong defensive effort in the second half as the Lady Knights held Northwest scoreless over the final 40 minutes.
