The Lady Knights won their first home game of the season, defeating Minerva 9-1. Becca Miller opened the scoring less than a minute into the game. Ava Reiheld made a run into the box and crossed the ball in front of goal, where Becca finished it to give the Knights an early lead. The next six goals were all scored by Charli Murphy. Breslyn Brown received the ball and found Charli on the far side, where she slotted the ball home. Her second came after she won the ball from a defender near midfield, dribbled toward goal and placed her shot into the back of the net. Codi Murphy assisted Charli on each of her next two goals before finding her again less than a minute into the second half. Charli completed the double hat trick when she picked up the ball at midfield, beat the defenders and scored her sixth goal of the game. Two freshmen, Ava Reiheld and Melina Faunce, also scored their first varsity goals. Ava followed her own shot after the keeper dropped the ball and poked it into the back of the net. Melina capped off the scoring by chipping the keeper after Taylin Clark played a through ball to her. Landrie Croskey recorded four saves in the game. The Lady Knights open OCC play Thursday at Mansfield Senior at 6 p.m.
