The West Holmes Track & Field squads had several outstanding performances in hosting the 2026 Knights Track & Field Invitational today on the best weather day of the meet, probably since 2021. The Knight Girls were led by Most Field Points MVP Mallory Marmet who won the discus and finished second in the shot put while Katherine Kaster was runner-up in the 1600m run and won the 3200m run in dramatic fashion outkicking her opponent in the final 150 meters to take the 1st place medal. For the West Holmes Boys team, Maddax Graham earned the Most Field Points MVP Award with a first in the shot put and a first in the discus. His throw in the discus improved on last week as he hurled the platter 154’3”. The Knight Boys 4x200m relay team of Marshall Yoder, Garrett Obrst, Cody Gallion and Mac Craft won their race in 1:34.46 for the gold medal while Rhett Chaney started off the morning with a jump of 20’3.25” to take the Long Jump title. The Knight Boys finished 4th of 10 teams with 72 points while the WH Girls were 6th of 10 teams garnering 64.5 points. Both teams are back in action Tuesday at home against New Philadelphia.
