The Knight Boys and Girls Track and Field Teams hosted New Philadelphia yesterday and despite many outstanding early season performances, both teams fell to the visiting Quakers in OCC Dual Meets. The Boys team lost 88 to 34 while the Girls squad fell by a narrow margin, 73-51. For the Boys, Junior Maddax Graham led the way with lifetime Personal Bests in the Shot Put and Discus, throwing the Shot 52’8″ and the Disc 161’3″ moving up on the all-time school best lists in both throwing events. Mac Craft was a winner in the 200 meter dash, while Garrett Obrst finished 3rd in the 200. Parker Garver won the 400 meter dash as Mac finsished 2nd in the 100 meters. Marshall Yoder scored 3rd in the 300 meter hurdles, Rhett Chaney jumped 20 feet 6 inches in the Long Jump to garner 2nd while the 4X400 team of Parker Garver, Cole Troyer, Jimmy Wengerd and Marshall won their race in 3:51.08. Garret also finished 3rd in the High Jump to round out the Knights scoring.
The West Holmes Girls earned event victories from Mallory Marmet in the Shot Put at 32’4″ and the Discus tossing the platter 103 feet 2 inches. Rowan Holasek was third in the Shot, while Saige Krownapple threw a personal best of 80’5″ in the discus to finish 2nd and Rowan 72’5″ to finish 3rd. Mckaylin Getchey had a season best of 4 feet 10 inches to garner 2nd in the High Jump. Breslyn Brown was a double winner taking the 200 in 29.28 and 400 in 1:03.34. Breslyn finished 3rd in the 100 meters. Katherin Kaster earned 1st in the 800 meters and 2nd in the 400 meters. Sophie Arnold was 2nd in the 800, while Ellie Babitt finished 3rd. Ellie won the 1600 meters while senior Serenity McClintock finished 2nd in the 1600. Lilli Brown was 3rd in the 100 meter hurdles, Alizah Sigler finished 3rd in the 200 meters to round out the Knights scoring.
The teams will be back in action on Friday April 17 when they travel to the Dover Relays.
