On Saturday the 3rd, the Knights wrestling team travelled across, what felt like, the state of Ohio to battle against tough new competition in Barnesville. Despite the early hours, the long drive, and many kids battling sickness, as a team the Knights took FIRST PLACE out of a tough 21 teams. Coach Wilcox could not narrow down the Knight of the Tournament to one person as there were so many individuals who had phenomenal days on saturday.  Carter Kick, Julian Morehouse, Darek Vaughn, Josie Hoover, Ryker Stokovich, Claire Hoover, Jaycee Jackson, Tyler Steinbauer, and Greyson Hart all battled tough and did their part in helping the team take first place but came up short of their individual goals.  Winning 2 or 3 matches on the day despite not placing were Rorick Taggart, Weston Rogers, Logan Johnson, and Briggs Patterson. Placing for Knights were: Hudson Ross taking 6th place Gavin Hoover, Jake Lennington, Jett Justice, and Kolston Wagers who took 5th place. Mason Dye and Bryson Snyder taking 4th place. Clint “Cletus” Burgett taking 3rd place. Rowand Mathie taking 2nd place. And last but not least Jackson Vaughn and Grantham Lovell who were champions in their weight classes. Coach Wilcox also wants to give a special shout-out to Ryker Stokovich and Josie Hoover for winning their first matches of the season. Great job this weekend, Knights!
