On Saturday, despite having tough competition and while battling the weather, the Knights HAMMERED the competition taking 3rd place out of 18 teams. Everyone on the team battled hard and fought until the whistle was blown in their matches. Mason Dye, Weston Rogers, Greyson Hart, Briggs Patterson, Jaycee Jackson, Tyler Steinbauer, Clint Burgett, Julian Morehouse, Hudson Ross, and Darek Vaughn all fought hard and represented the Knights well despite not placing. Placing for the Knights were: Gavin Hoover taking 6th place (going 4 – 2) Carter Kick taking 5th place (going 4 – 1) Jett Justice taking 5th place (going 3 – 1) Rowand Mathie taking 3rd place (going 3 – 1) Rorick Taggart taking 3rd place (going 3 – 1) Jake Lennington taking 3rd place (going 3 – 1) Kolston Wagers taking 3rd place (going 3 – 1) Congratulations goes out to multiple people from the weekend. First of all, Jaycee Jackson won her first ever wrestling match this weekend. Last but certainly not least, the Knights had two individual champions. Jackson Vaughn went 4 – 0 on his way to capturing a gold medal and avenged a loss from earlier in his career in the championship match. And Bryson Snyder went 3 – 0 on his way to capturing the first gold medal in his wrestling career.
